The Hearts have it.

Two new small works. Ink and watercolor. Both of them are the Artist Trading card size of 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. ATC024 ATC025

These two were part of a theme exercise on ATCs for All as part of the Zentangle with a Twist Group. They have ended up as part of a small art show

Numbers

So for the Challenge this week at Steph’s Stuff the theme was numbers.

ATC023Clearly, I could not decide which number was the one I wanted. I also played around with a wide variety of styles and mediums on these. I asked four people which one was the best, and I got four different answers. “A Number of Laws” is my favorite, but the way is fits the theme is really obscure.

“A Number of Laws” ATC020is collage with ink, paint and gold ink pen.

“5.6.7,8” is prima color markers, gold ink pen and colored pencils on a “Intial D” collectible playing card that had a layer of clear gesso applied to it. The scan looks much brighter than  the original card.

“One” is collage with ink.

                                         “BingoATC022” is just collage.

Shiny and New

After much fighting with the new blogging software, I decided to delete it. I apologize Shiny for the break in the blog, But I got caught up in trying to make some software that was supposed to make my life simpler bog me down and side track me.  I am very happy with the Window’s Live Writer program, even though it does not slice, dice or make julienne fries.

I have been enjoying making ATCs. That is Artist Trading Cards. This one is for the weekly challenge Steph’s Stuff. This weeks theme is  “Jewels/Jewelry/Gems”. More on the

history of ATCs can be found here

We are going to be starting a monthly ATC trading card swap at the Gallery 24 @ Creative Corner. I will be holding a series of classes for those who want to learn about this fun and versatile art form.

This card  is a mixed media collage of catalog images of rhinestone,  colored pencil and marker  topped off with real rhinestones.

For the use of finite creatures- Henri  Fredric Amiel

I enjoy making ATC and Stephanie at Steff’s Stuff has a weekly ATC card theme. I was just saying I was looking for some routine. As I find the ATC to be a fun way to play with different color combinations and layouts, they are an excellent way to recycle my test images.

In other artistic endeavors this last week I have continued working of a couple of fairies from the book I reviewed.  I have also started a study of faces, as I was not happy when I was working on the faces of the fairies. I am finding it very hard to get back into the swing of things after all the time off after New Years and Christmas.

I knew that this ATC needed to made the moment I saw that the theme for the week was for Hats. I had been thinking of trying to put together something with the hats, the parasols and the pocket watch.  Steff’s StuffI kept thinking that it needed a teacup and flowers, but that would have made it very Allison in Wonderland. I did add the candle as the extra light really brightened up the parasols.
